We are excited to welcome you to artstay Hobart. We are a scientist and an artist, and Tasmanian. This restored 1890s workers’ cottage is our home away from home. We have curated this space for you as much as for ourselves. We live with art every day and want to share this joy. In this cottage, you will experience some of our favourite pieces from our collection, and immerse in art commissions made by artists specially for our gallery home.
Our cottage is located on Bathurst Street in the heart of Hobart. The cottage is airy in summer and warm in winter, and is yours to enjoy. Every Sunday, a few blocks down, our street transforms into the local farmers’ market. You will find Pigeon Hole café around the corner, one of Hobart’s little gems. Our favourite restaurant Templo is a few blocks away on Patrick Street, and our local pub the New Sydney is just down the road. The cottage is also equipped for cooking. Hill Street Grocer in West Hobart stocks the best local produce, go wild. MONA is a boat ride away from Brooke Street Pier, a pleasant, downhill eighteen minutes-walk from our front door.
Welcome to artstay Hobart.
